Exploring Lower Hutt again.
SSar's Beast
morbane
So, sometimes when wandering around doing my job, I think about all kinds of odd stuff, and sometimes my location itself gives me some glaringly obvious things to think about.

For example, the Lower Hutt suburb of Waterloo. Which is a clue in itself. Then you get Nile St, Jutland St, Vincent St, Trafalgar Square... It seems as though every street bordered by Waterloo Road, Waiwhetu Road, Whites Line East, and Cambridge Terrace, is a British naval reference. Have a look... Here are the ones I (and Wikipedia) are up to speed on so far:

Trafalgar
Vincent (though why not St Vincent?)
Collingwood
Rodney
Cressy
Craddock
Nile
Jutland
Hardy
Grenville
Hawkins

Can anyone help me with

Brook
Guthrie?

I'm also not sure about whether Birdwood and Haig are meant to be part of the same theme, although you may note they're outside the delineated zone. Hm. 'Discuss'.

Naval history, eh?
I'll go get my boyfriend.

Thanks muchly :) What would YOU name a suburb after, given the opportunity?

No idea. Possibly types of yarn (Alpaca Avenue, Merino Drive etc) or shades of purple.

I think brook was an Admiral, but im not sure.
